The first leg of our trip start with The Petrified Forest National Park, just off Interstate 40 in the state of Arizona. Also on the agenda was the Painted Desert National Park.
There are a number of trails that you can take and walk amongst the petrified logs.
Be sure to stop by the visitors center as they have a number of exhibits inside and more examples of petrified trees just outside.
